Bitten by the Travel Bug

Bitten by the Travel Bug follows one girls solo journey around the world in search of adventure, culture and just a little bit of luxury.

During her travels Nicole has lived and worked in upstate New York teaching radio, lived and worked in London, run with the bulls in Pamplona, and travelled solo through Asia.

Nicole has a double degree in Journalism and Internet Communications, and has worked in the Australian media for 8-years (radio and television).
She is currently working as a freelancer and a social media consultant and blogger liason with a number of brands, including Go Visit Denmark (UK).

On the VIP Culture track, we found there’s more to Canberra than politics and took a look at some of Australia’s most impressive museums, fine dining, boutique stays, and quirky markets. Tourism Northern Territory/Plus7 – NT Checklist – Trip to the Northern Territory to complete my own ‘checklist’ of experiences in the Red Centre. The list included walking the base of Uluru and a sunrise camel ride, ATV riding at a station, eating camel burgers, glamping and hiking at Kings Canyon, learning about bush tucker and visiting Alice Spring’s hidden secret – their dirt bike tracks! Edinburgh Festivals – Experiencing the Best of August’s Festivals – August means festivals galore in Edinburgh and this trip involved creating a balanced boutique weekend break, including visiting the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Fringe Festival, Arts Festival and cultural sideshows. Worked with as transportation providers. (Aug ’12)

Various companies – Girls Running with Bulls – self-created press trip for five girls heading to Pamplona, Spain to the San Fermin Festival. Exploring aspects of travel including solo-travel, culture, and female-travel before running with the bulls – an event many of our readers previously believing that it was illegal for females to run. Worked with Roomorama (Pamplona accommodation), Hostelbookers (European accommodation), Eurail, Vayama, and TravelSim. (July ’12)
